China to Expand Space Station and Manned Lunar Missions in 2025, Signs Deal with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, March 3 (Alliance News): China’s manned space program will focus on expanding its space station operations and advancing its manned lunar exploration efforts in 2025, according to the China Manned Space Engineering Office.

A report released on Monday stated that China’s space station remains stable in orbit, with significant progress made in human spaceflight missions. Since its completion, China has conducted four manned flights, three cargo ship departures, four spacecraft return missions, and long-term stays for 15 astronauts. The program has also set a world record for the longest single out-of-cabin astronaut activity.

For 2025, China has scheduled two manned space missions and a cargo spacecraft launch. The astronauts for these missions have been selected and are undergoing specialized training.

In a major development, China and Pakistan have signed a space cooperation agreement in Islamabad, under which Pakistani astronauts will participate in short-term missions aboard China’s space station in the coming years.

The agreement, signed between the China Manned Space Engineering Office and Pakistan’s Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), marks a milestone in space collaboration between the two nations.
