ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (Alliance News): Portugal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Frederico Silva, met with the Managing Director of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Muhammad Asim Khichi, to discuss strengthening media cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the ambassador expressed interest in fostering collaboration in education, arts, culture, tourism, business, and a news exchange agreement between APP and LUSA, Portugal’s national news agency.

He highlighted the role of media and information technology in enhancing bilateral relations and underscored the need for greater people-to-people contact through media, cultural, and business linkages.

The APP chief assured the Portuguese envoy that efforts would be expedited to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for news exchange to benefit both nations.

Accompanying the ambassador was Portuguese author and journalist Teresa Nicolau, who is visiting Pakistan from February 25 to 27.

Sharing her experiences, Nicolau praised Pakistan’s cultural diversity, literary heritage, and rich, spicy cuisine. She emphasized the importance of cultural connections in strengthening ties between the two countries.
