ISLAMABAD, Oct 06 (Alliance News): In a significant humanitarian initiative, the combined efforts of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Federal Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan have led to the successful repatriation of 56 Pakistani prisoners held in Sri Lanka for several years.
A specially arranged chartered plane has been dispatched to bring these prisoners back to Pakistan, with their arrival expected on Sunday.
The repatriation is the result of three months of coordination between Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior, under Naqvi’s direction, and Sri Lankan authorities.
This humanitarian initiative was undertaken to ensure the safe return of the Pakistani nationals.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had personally tasked his ministry with facilitating the release and return of the prisoners.
The effort also saw significant support from Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, who took on the financial responsibility for covering all repatriation expenses.
Minister Naqvi expressed his gratitude to the Sri Lankan government and its High Commissioner for their cooperation in this endeavor.
He also commended Abdul Aleem Khan for his generous financial support, which ensured the smooth return of the prisoners.
The return of these 56 Pakistani nationals marks a major humanitarian achievement for the government, bringing relief and joy to the families who had been anxiously awaiting the return of their loved ones.
