ISLAMABAD, Nov 20 (Alliance News): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Saudi Deputy Interior Minister Dr. Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Daoud on Wednesday to discuss enhancing bilateral ties, security cooperation, and addressing mutual concerns.
The meeting, also attended by Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, emphasized close relations between the two nations.
Both sides explored measures to dismantle networks sending beggars from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, with Naqvi revealing that 4,300 individuals are now on the Exit Control List (ECL) as part of a zero-tolerance approach.
Discussions also focused on expediting the repatriation of 419 Pakistani prisoners currently in Saudi custody.
Legal procedures for their return are expected to conclude soon. Both countries agreed on joint training programs and closer collaboration between paramilitary and police forces.
Naqvi praised Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties.
“Saudi Arabia is a brotherly Islamic country. Pakistan will extend every possible cooperation to deepen our ties,” he said.
Senior officials, including the Additional Secretary of Interior, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and IG Islamabad Police, were present during the meeting.
