Pakistan, Standard Chartered Discuss Expanding Investment Opportunities

Islamabad: September 4, 2024: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a virtual meeting with Mr. Sunil Kaushal, Global Head of Corporate & Investment Banking at Standard Chartered Bank, to discuss expanding investment opportunities in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 5 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a virtual meeting with Sunil Kaushal, Global Head of Corporate & Investment Banking at Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), on Wednesday to discuss expanding investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The meeting, attended by CEO Standard Chartered Pakistan Rehan Shaikh, the Finance Secretary, and other senior officials from the Finance Division, focused on exploring potential collaborations in sectors like infrastructure development, digital banking, and sustainable finance.

Senator Aurangzeb emphasized the positive trajectory of Pakistan’s macroeconomic indicators and reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining economic stability through reforms. He assured that Pakistan remains an attractive destination for global investors and highlighted the government’s efforts to create a conducive environment for foreign investment.

Kaushal expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic outlook, describing the country as a key market for Standard Chartered. He affirmed the bank’s long-term commitment to support Pakistan’s economic growth by extending investment and financial support.

Both parties agreed to explore specific investment projects in the coming months.
