ISLAMABAD, Sep 5 (Alliance News): Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, met with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy on Wednesday to review bilateral relations and discuss regional issues of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed the importance of a strong Pakistan-UK partnership, focusing on advancing their agenda and promoting peace and stability in the region. He acknowledged the contributions of British-Pakistanis in strengthening the ties between the two nations.
DPM Dar expressed his interest in working closely with Foreign Secretary Lammy on shared priorities like climate action, creating job opportunities for youth, and boosting trade and investment. He highlighted Pakistan’s goal to build a stronger strategic partnership with the UK.
Foreign Secretary Lammy congratulated Pakistan on its recent election to the UN Security Council and reassured the UK’s continued support. Both leaders agreed to stay engaged in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October 2024.
