Pakistani Finance Minister and Turkish Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Trade, Investment, and Defense Cooperation

ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (Alliance News) — Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, held a meeting with Irfan Neziroglu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan, on Monday.

The two discussed the historical ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, focusing on enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, and defense, according to a press release from the finance ministry.

Welcoming Ambassador Neziroglu to Pakistan, Senator Aurangzeb highlighted the close bonds between the two nations and emphasized the potential for increased bilateral trade.

He recalled his recent meeting with Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister, Mehmet Simsek, held in Washington DC during the World Bank Group/IMF Annual Meetings 2024, where they discussed shared economic interests.

Senator Aurangzeb also expressed interest in Türkiye’s experience with power sector reforms and encouraged Turkish firms to explore joint ventures in Pakistan, particularly in IT and agriculture sectors.

Ambassador Neziroglu appreciated Pakistan’s recent economic reforms and the country’s strides towards macroeconomic stability. He affirmed his commitment to strengthening relations between Türkiye and Pakistan.
