PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows Maximum Support for Turkish Investors in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, August 9 (Alliance News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed authorities to provide maximum support to Turkish investors in Pakistan to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.

During a meeting with a high-level delegation of Turkish business leaders, led by Turkish Minister for Customs and Trade Omer Bolat, PM Shehbaz emphasized the government’s goal to strengthen bilateral trade ties. He highlighted the aim to reach $5 billion in trade, a target agreed upon with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

PM Shehbaz noted the deep-rooted, brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye, referring to the countries as “one nation-two states.” He reiterated his invitation for President Erdogan to visit Pakistan and expressed optimism that the Turkish investors’ visit would lead to increased investment.

Turkish Minister Omer Bolat mentioned that 54 Turkish companies have already invested $3.5 billion in Pakistan. The Turkish delegation expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s political and economic stability and thanked Pakistan for the humanitarian aid sent after the 2023 earthquake in Turkiye.

Federal ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Abdul Aleem Khan, Awais Leghari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye Yousuf Junaid also attended the meeting.
