PTI Mulls No-Confidence Motions Against PM Shehbaz Sharif and Speaker Ayaz Sadiq

ISLAMABAD, May 19 (Alliance News): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is reportedly planning to table no-confidence motions against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in collaboration with opposition allies.

Sources reveal that PTI founder Imran Khan, in a recent meeting with his legal team and family, actively discussed the possibility of targeting the speaker with a no-confidence motion.

The opposition alliance, including Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, has expressed no confidence in the current speaker.

Imran Khan has authorized party leadership and allied opposition groups to proceed with preparations and execute the plan when deemed appropriate.

Senior PTI leader and former speaker Asad Qaiser confirmed the consideration of no-confidence motions against both the prime minister and the speaker but noted the move is currently paused due to ongoing Pakistan-India tensions, to avoid politicizing a national crisis.

Qaiser emphasized that the no-confidence strategy remains a key option and will be pursued at the right time. Notably, Imran Khan was the first prime minister in Pakistan’s history to be ousted through a no-confidence vote in April 2022.
