Rana Tanveer Hussain Calls for Opposition Unity to Strengthen Parliament and Democracy

ISLAMABAD, Sep 10 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, on Tuesday urged the opposition to unite in the interest of parliament, democracy, and the country’s progress.

Speaking in the National Assembly, he emphasized the need for collaboration to uplift the common people and promote national development.

Recalling events from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, he criticized the PTI for its attacks on institutions, including the parliament and PTV, during their sit-in.

He also mentioned the civil disobedience campaign led by PTI, which encouraged citizens to stop paying bills.

The minister recounted the incident in Karachi, where the doors of Maryam Nawaz’s hotel room were broken, and opposition leaders were arrested on fabricated charges during PTI’s rule.

He expressed disappointment that PTI members failed to condemn inappropriate language used by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, at a recent rally, where media personnel, including women, were targeted.

Rana Tanveer also criticized PTI’s decision to unconstitutionally dissolve the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly, depriving people of their representation.

The minister highlighted the cooperation extended by Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Asif Ali Zardari during PTI’s tenure, contrasting it with PTI’s politics of hate and confrontation.

He reminded the assembly that Nawaz Sharif had shown goodwill by visiting PTI’s founder in the hospital when he was injured during an election campaign.

Meanwhile, MQM-Pakistan leader Syed Mustafa Kamal echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the supremacy of parliament and condemning Ali Amin Gandapur’s divisive speech.

He called for political parties to unite and work together to address the country’s ongoing crisis.
