Supreme Court Rejects Petition to Transfer PTI Founder, Imposes Fine

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10 (Alliance News): The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) dismissed a petition seeking the transfer of the PTI founder from Adiala Jail to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, deeming it unnecessary and irrelevant.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 on the petitioner, Abdul Qayum Khan.

A seven-member constitutional bench, led by Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, heard the case on Tuesday at the principal seat.

Other members included Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justice Musarrat Hilali, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan.

Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan questioned the petitioner’s involvement in the matter, stating, “You have nothing to do with this matter.”

Justice Jamal Mandokhail advised the petitioner to focus on legislative actions, as the issue pertained to policy decisions. Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked, “See you again,” addressing the petitioner.

The court highlighted the importance of avoiding unnecessary litigation and refraining from dragging the judiciary into political matters.
