RAWALPINDI, Nov 25 (Alliance News): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of fostering chaos, citing the May 9 incidents of violence as evidence.
Speaking to the media at Nur Khan Airbase, Tarar emphasized that Pakistanis preferred progress and welfare, as seen in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government initiatives.
He highlighted significant economic progress, including the Pakistan Stock Exchange reaching a historic 100,000 points, inflation dropping to 6.9% from 32%, and remittances rising to $8.8 billion in the first quarter.
Key commodities such as electricity and petrol are now cheaper compared to previous years, while interest rates and KIBOR stand at 15% and 13%, respectively, indicating economic stability and foreign investment interest, he said.
Belarusian Delegation in Pakistan
Tarar noted the arrival of a high-level Belarusian delegation and the visit of President Alexander Lukashenko, terming it a milestone in bilateral relations between the two countries.
He praised the “exemplary” friendship and anticipated the signing of numerous business agreements to enhance cooperation in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, textiles, and defence.
The visit follows a meeting between PM Shehbaz Sharif and President Lukashenko during the SCO Summit in Astana and reflects deepening ties established during the tenure of former PM Nawaz Sharif.
