ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (Alliance News): To tackle climate change and curb smog, Punjab’s Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, Raja Jahangir Anwar, announced a new plan on Thursday to boost the “Plant for Pakistan” campaign. This initiative includes rewarding individuals and groups for their environmental efforts.
The plan encourages people to plant trees, reduce pollution, and adopt eco-friendly habits. The government will also make “green investments” in sectors most affected by climate change and introduce climate education in schools to raise awareness among students.
In a unique step, the government will offer cash rewards to those who contribute to environmental conservation by planting trees and recycling waste. This move aims to foster community-led initiatives and build a culture of sustainability.
Raja Jahangir Anwar emphasized that the success of these initiatives depends on public cooperation. He urged citizens to join hands with the government to combat climate change and promote sustainability. By working together, the government and the people can make a significant impact on reducing pollution, conserving resources, and mitigating climate change effects.
