ICT Administration Launches Digital Payment System for Easier Transactions

ISLAMABAD, Aug 20 (Alliance News): The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration is launching a new digital payment system, making it easier for residents to pay various fees and fines through mobile apps. This initiative, developed in collaboration with a private bank, aims to streamline transactions and improve convenience for the public, according to a spokesman from the ICT administration.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, chaired a meeting to discuss the digitization of public payments. The meeting included officials from the Food Authority, the Excise Department, and representatives from the private sector bank.

The new system will allow residents to pay all fees and fines related to the Excise Office through a mobile application. This includes fines and license fees from the Food Authority and permit fees and fines from the Transport Authority, which will also move to the digital platform.

DC Irfan Nawaz noted that Price Control Magistrates will benefit from this digital solution for managing fines. He added that a formal agreement with the private bank to facilitate this digital transition will be signed soon.
