Islamabad on High Alert as ICT Administration Tackles Flooding from Heavy Rains

ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (Alliance News): Following heavy rainfall in the Federal Capital, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has placed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on high alert. The ICT teams are actively working to manage the aftermath of the monsoon showers.

According to an ICT administration spokesperson, teams are focused on preventing flooding and ensuring smooth traffic flow throughout the city. The monsoon rains have caused significant water accumulation across Islamabad, prompting a rapid response from local officials.

Assistant Commissioners and Magistrates are actively involved in field operations to address the situation. The Deputy Commissioner has instructed them to expedite the drainage process to mitigate the impact of the floods.

Assistant Commissioners are inspecting low-lying areas to assess the extent of water accumulation and are coordinating efforts to clear the drains. The district administration is also ensuring that city-wide drains are functioning effectively and maintaining drainage on major highways.

To manage traffic disruptions caused by the rain, traffic police are assisting in keeping the roads clear and traffic flowing smoothly despite the challenging conditions.

The swift action by the ICT administration aims to minimize the effects of the heavy rains and restore normalcy in the capital.
