ISLAMABAD, Jul 29 (Alliance News): The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration is on high alert, implementing measures to prevent flooding and ensure smooth traffic flow as heavy rain showers hit the Federal Capital.
According to an ICT administration spokesman, heavy rains have begun pouring down on the city, prompting a swift response from the administration. Assistant Commissioners and Magistrates are actively present in the field, closely monitoring the situation.
District administration teams are visiting various low-lying areas to assess the impact and take necessary actions to prevent waterlogging. A key focus is on the status of the city’s drains, including those in areas H-8 and G-7.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon emphasized the importance of effective drainage to prevent flooding. He stated that ACs and magistrates are working on the ground to ensure that the drainage systems function properly. Efforts are underway to manage the monsoon rains and minimize disruption.
Irfan Nawaz assured residents that all measures are being taken to maintain effective drainage. Traffic police are also on duty to ensure smooth traffic flow on all major highways. The district commissioner highlighted the cooperation between various departments to tackle the challenges posed by the heavy rains.
