Minister Orders Immediate Action Following Heavy Rain in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (Alliance News): After heavy rainfall in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to stay on high alert.

He called CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, instructing him to speed up the drainage process under his supervision, ensuring water is quickly removed from low-lying areas. Relevant officers and staff must remain on site until the drainage work is complete.

The minister emphasized the need for regular monitoring of streets, drains, and waterways, especially at underpasses and other critical locations, to ensure effective water drainage. Additionally, he instructed the traffic police to maintain traffic flow and called for additional resources to support the drainage efforts.
