ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (Alliance News): A new cohort of 25 female journalists from across Pakistan has been established to focus on climate change reporting and the challenges faced by women in climate-induced disasters.
This initiative, a collaboration between the Climate Action Center and Green Media Initiatives, aims to amplify women’s voices in climate change discussions.
Shabina Faraz, CEO of Green Media Initiatives, emphasized that the cohort will empower female journalists to influence policymakers and ensure that women play a crucial role in shaping climate change prevention policies.
Yasir Hussain, Director of the Climate Action Center, reflected on his three-decade-long effort to promote female media involvement in environmental protection. He recalled the early 90s, when environmental news was scarce and hard to disseminate, highlighting the progress made since then.

Siddiqui also highlighted the growing importance of digital media and social platforms for spreading these stories.
