BAKU, Nov 12 (Alliance News) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif joined world leaders on Tuesday at the opening plenary of the “World Leaders’ Climate Action Summit” as part of the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Upon his arrival, PM Shehbaz was welcomed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. He participated in the family photo with other leaders before the summit’s official opening.
PM Shehbaz will address the summit, sharing Pakistan’s perspective on climate action and resilience.
In addition, Pakistan will host multiple high-level events and discussions at the Pakistan Pavilion, showcasing the country’s climate initiatives and facilitating dialogues on collaborative efforts for sustainable development.
