ISLAMABAD, Sep 27 (Alliance News): A validation and consultation workshop for the National Climate Finance Strategy (NCFS) took place on Friday, organized by the Ministry of Climate Change & Environmental Coordination (MoCC & EC) in collaboration with the World Bank and National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF).
The workshop aimed to bring together relevant stakeholders to incorporate their feedback into the final draft of the strategy.
Participants included representatives from Federal and Provincial departments, UN agencies, donor partners, the private sector, banking, industry, civil society organizations, and academia.
Once approved, the NCFS is expected to create fiscal space for Pakistan’s climate action, facilitating access to international climate finance and investments.
It is designed to support climate resilience and low-carbon development across all sectors, provinces, and regions of Pakistan.
The strategy will enable stakeholders to have a shared understanding of climate finance and decision-making at various levels.
