ISLAMABAD, Jul 11 (Alliance News): National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the need to strengthen Pakistan-Germany bilateral relations further during a meeting with a delegation from Germany on Thursday.
The Speaker highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation between parliamentary friendship groups and increasing exchanges of parliamentary delegations between the two countries.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics including bilateral, regional, and global issues. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations, particularly in parliamentary ties, and pledged to enhance and diversify cooperation for mutual benefit.
Sadiq underscored that Pakistan and Germany share a multifaceted friendly relationship based on common interests and a shared stance on various regional and international issues. He emphasized the importance of bolstering parliamentary, cultural, economic, and people-to-people connections to achieve sustainable development goals.
Discussing trade and economic cooperation, Sadiq highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to create a conducive environment for economic activities, offering significant investment opportunities for friendly countries.
The German delegation, comprising Members of the German Parliament Michael Müller, Christoph Schmid, and Derya Türk-Nachbaur, along with parliamentary officials and representatives from Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Pakistan, expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and sentiments towards their country and its people. They reiterated Germany’s view of Pakistan as a crucial regional player and affirmed their commitment to strengthening ties across various fields of mutual interest, including parliamentary and cultural exchanges.
