Pakistan and Turkey Vow to Strengthen Counter-Terrorism and Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD, Sep 5 (Alliance News): Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Pacaci met with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday to discuss enhancing Pakistan-Turkey relations and areas of mutual interest, including counter-terrorism efforts and increasing flights between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador Pacaci condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and expressed Turkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan. He highlighted that Turkiye has overcome its own battle with terrorism and offered full support in counter-terrorism initiatives.

Interior Minister Naqvi acknowledged the immense sacrifices made by Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, recognizing the contributions of the country’s armed forces, police, Rangers, and civil society. He welcomed Turkiye’s cooperation in further strengthening these efforts.

Naqvi announced plans to visit Turkiye in October to discuss measures for enhancing bilateral cooperation. He emphasized Pakistan’s desire to deepen its brotherly relations with Turkiye, stating that Pakistanis consider Turkey their second home.

The minister also congratulated Ambassador Pacaci on his recent appointment as the Special Envoy of the OIC for combating Islamophobia and expressed best wishes for his new role.

Ambassador Pacaci thanked the Interior Minister for his support during his tenure in Pakistan and reaffirmed Turkiye’s commitment to furthering their strong bilateral ties.
