ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (Alliance News): National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Belarus, particularly through enhanced parliamentary cooperation, during a meeting in Minsk on Wednesday with Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus.
“This visit marks an important step forward in our bilateral relations. We deeply appreciate your hospitality and are eager to build on the foundations laid over the past 30 years of diplomatic relations,” Ayaz Sadiq stated.
The speaker highlighted the importance of deepening parliamentary relations and expanding the legal framework for cooperation between the two countries. He noted that Pakistan is committed to updating existing agreements to make them more effective and will actively work towards facilitating closer interaction.
Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s support for Belarus on international platforms, including its bid to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and other organizations where Pakistan is a member.
Igor Sergeyenko expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s consistent support at international forums and welcomed the visit of the Pakistani parliamentary delegation as a significant milestone in strengthening ties between the two nations.
