ISLAMABAD, Sep 05 (APP): The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) recently held a ceremony, organized by its Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC), to foster collaboration between industry and students.
The event saw certificates awarded to 10 students from Pak-Turk Maarif International Schools and Colleges, who completed internships across various departments of the university.
Former Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Professor Dr. Irshad Ahmed Arshad, commended Vice-Chancellor Dr. Nasir Mahmood for his leadership in promoting capacity building and skills-based education.
He congratulated the students, emphasizing the critical role of skilled youth in shaping Pakistan’s future.
Industry experts attending the event highlighted the importance of job-oriented education, pointing out that graduates often face challenges in finding employment. They stressed the need for stronger connections between students and industries, with ORIC playing a pivotal role in bridging this gap.
Dr. Saima Nasir expressed confidence in the potential of Pakistan’s youth, highlighting AIOU’s efforts to provide opportunities for students to showcase their research work. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the interns, recognizing their contributions and achievements.
