ISLAMABAD, Sept 26 (Alliance News): The British Council has officially launched the eleventh edition of its prestigious Study UK Alumni Awards, celebrating the exceptional achievements of UK alumni worldwide.
These awards highlight individuals who have turned their education into impactful contributions within their communities, industries, and countries, according to a press release issued today.
The awards encompass various categories, including Business and Innovation, Science and Sustainability, and others that honor the diverse ways in which alumni are shaping the future. Applications for the awards opened on September 1 and will remain open until October 21, 2024.
Alumni can compete for both national and global honors, with two Pakistani alumni already expected to be among the finalists for the global awards.
Winners of the global awards will be announced in 2025, accompanied by a digital campaign showcasing their inspiring journeys.
These awardees will also enjoy an exclusive trip to the UK, where they will reconnect with their universities, mentor current GREAT scholars, and network with other global winners.
In addition to global recognition, some countries will hold national award ceremonies, with finalists being announced between December 2024 and March 2025.
These events, often graced by the British Ambassador or High Commissioner, promise to attract media attention and celebrate the achievements of distinguished alumni.
Notable past winners have expressed their gratitude for the recognition. Dr. Freideriki Michailidou, a Science and Sustainability Award winner from Greece, shared, “This award connects to essential pillars of my scientific career.
My UK education profoundly impacted me.” Another recipient remarked, “This award has elevated my credibility beyond words, creating new opportunities and helping me reach my goals faster than I anticipated.”
Alumni worldwide are encouraged to seize this chance to highlight their achievements and continue building a legacy of excellence. For more information and to apply before the October 21 deadline, visit the British Council’s website.
