ISLAMABAD, Jul 30 (Alliance News): The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has announced a series of innovative programs and significant upgrades for Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Schools and Colleges, set to enhance the learning experience and overall well-being of students in the upcoming academic session.
Welcoming students back to school after the vacation, the ministry outlined a range of new academic programs designed to equip students with essential future skills. Primary students will benefit from newly introduced Coding and AI classes, aimed at developing critical technological skills from an early age.
High school students will engage in entrepreneurship and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs, fostering innovation and creativity.
In addition to these academic enhancements, the ministry is introducing a Character Building Curriculum to focus on values and personality development, along with financial literacy to empower students with vital life skills.
Infrastructure improvements are also a key focus. The ministry is expanding smart classrooms in both urban and rural schools to facilitate interactive learning. A new Health Infirmary will be established in 125 schools to ensure students’ health and wellness. The initiative includes the installation of 400 wash stations across schools to improve hygiene and the renovation of 75 schools with vibrant, engaging environments. Additionally, 100 new early childhood education centers will be set up in FDE schools.
Student welfare initiatives are also being strengthened. A solid hot meals program will address malnutrition issues among primary students, while free sports uniforms will encourage sports participation. The ministry has allocated 20 Pink Buses to facilitate safe travel for female students and teachers from rural to urban areas.
In terms of Science and Technology, the ministry will introduce High-Tech Telescopes in 100 schools to spark interest in astronomy. Furthermore, six-month foreign language courses will be provided to 1,500 students in federal schools. AI-based formative assessments are being implemented to offer personalized feedback and improve student outcomes, replacing traditional examinations for Grade 5 students to reduce stress and focus on learning.
To cater to diverse student needs, 50 schools will introduce evening shift programs. These new initiatives reflect the ministry’s commitment to enhancing educational quality and student well-being across the nation.
