ISLAMABAD, May 19 (Alliance News): The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned the public about scammers impersonating official departments and using fake websites to steal personal information.
In a post on X, the HEC shared a video cautioning citizens that it never requests OTPs, passwords, or bank details. The commission clarified it does not call individuals for payment attestation or any such financial information.
HEC urged people to be vigilant against scam calls and fake websites, advising not to share personal or banking details with anyone. It highlighted that all official information is only available on its single official website.
The commission further instructed the public to report suspicious calls and websites to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the National Response Centre for Cyber Crime.
