Islamabad Model College Celebrates World Teachers’ Day with Ahsan Iqbal as Chief Guest

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (Alliance News): Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCG) F-11/3 marked ‘World Teachers’ Day’ on Saturday, led by Principal Farah Hamid.

The event was graced by Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, alongside Mohyudin Ahmad Wani, Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training.

The celebration was attended by students, teachers, and educationists, who came together to honor and appreciate the contributions of teachers. Students showcased their admiration through songs, tableau performances, and speeches dedicated to their educators.

Ahsan Iqbal, in his address, highlighted the importance of advancing education to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

He praised the college’s initiatives, including the establishment of a colorful library, a Mother-Child Healthcare Center, a High-Tech IT lab, a gym, a podcast room, an art section, and a smart classroom.

He also lauded the Early Childhood Center, which caters to children aged 3 to 5, reflecting the institution’s commitment to modern education.

Acknowledging the crucial role of teachers in shaping the nation’s future, the minister announced a new government initiative to reward outstanding teachers, starting next year.

The event concluded with a round of applause for the teachers, making the celebration a true success.
