Mashal Initiative Institute holds function to encourage IDD students

Tarbela Dam (Sobra City) May 06 ( Alliance News): Mashal Initiative Institute of Special Education, Tarbela Dam (Subra City) in collaboration with Alliance Good Governance Foundation organized a function on its annual day to appreciate and encourage its teachers and students for gaining education despite having by birth disorders.

The Mashal Institute is the only school in the area imparting education to the students with IDD (Intellectual Developmental Disabilities).

The brilliant performance of the IDD students in various tableaus during the event not only showed their confidence but also the hard work put in by their teachers.

The students presented tableaus on the topics of ‘Tareef’, ‘Palestine’, ‘Muslim Ummah’ and ‘Importance of Education’, besides comedy tableaus ‘Chaudhri’ and ‘Foolish Servant’, and a cultural tableau about the Gilgit-Baltistan province.

Chief Engineer Tarbela (TDP) Turesh Kumar addressing the function of Mashal as the chief guest said that the IDD students and the institutions like Mishal Initiative Institute of Special Education was a boon to the society.

The teachers, who were teaching the IDD students, were the kindest persons, he added.

Turesh Kumar said that earlier the school was under the supervision of WAPDA but now it was being run on public donations and requested the well-to-do individuals and institutions to generously support it for the noble cause.

Appreciating the role of Mishal Initiative Institute of Special Education and its teachers, he said that they are the best and kindest people who are teaching such students and spending their precious time to educate these children.

 

 

 

Chief Engineer Tarbela (TDP) Turesh Kumar thanked all the management of the school including the Chairperson of our institution Dr. Nargis Ara Begum, Director of Administration Mr. Sir Abdul Wahid Ghaznavi, Director of Finance Mr. Sir Waqar, Director of Education Mrs. Thobia Muaz, Principal Aram Arif Sahiba and respected teachers.

Talking to Alliance News, Principal of Mishal Initiative Institute of Special Education said the Mashal Initiative Institute was formally established in December 1998 with a total strength of nine students, which had now risen to 153, including 53 girls and 97 boys.

She said that Sardar Muhammad Tariq, General Manager of Tarbela Dam Project, was behind the establishment of the institute, as the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) had provided space for its building.

Aram Arif said that initially funding was obtained from the Tarbela Dam Ladies Club and individual contributions. She urged the people and intuitions to join hands with the Mishal Initiative Institute for the better health care, educational and other activities of the IDD children who needed public support.

She stressed upon the the people and concerned intuitions to come forwards and join hands with Mishal Initiative Institute of Special Education for the better health care, educational and other activities of such children who really needs the public attention and support.

 

  SPORTS &CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

SPEECH THERAPY

Institute use speech therapy for its indoor students.

PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTER

The institute has two physiotherapy center one for female patients and one for male patients

Rehabilitation Center for the Physically Disabled (RCPD ) Peshawar, has trained male & and female physiotherapists at the institute.

physiotherapy centers have played a critical role in the rehabilitation of physically handicapped and CP students.

Computer as a compulsory subject has been taught to all Students (Hearing imperiaed(HI) or Intellectual disabled(ID))

Computer has been opted as an elective subject in both SSC &HSSC level.

There are 2 computer labs one in Girl’s campus and 2nd is in the boy’s campus.3000+ automation from local community  students have been trained in office

  VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Highly professional Vocational female teachers conduct 3 months of certified vocational training classes for indoor students as well as for outdoor women of the local community.

More than 5500 outdoor students from the local community have completed vocational training
