ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (Alliance News): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the critical role of young doctors in transforming Pakistan’s healthcare system during his keynote address at the 57th Convocation of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) in Islamabad.
“Patients often sacrifice everything for their treatment. A kind word and a smile from doctors can offer them renewed hope,” Ayaz Sadiq remarked, lauding the dedication and compassion of young medical professionals.
The event was attended by Punjab Health Advisor Major General (Retd) Azhar Kiani, former caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Jamal Nasir, CPSP President Dr. Mohammad Shoaib Shafi, and graduates along with their families.
The Speaker commended CPSP’s six decades of service, describing it as a leading institution known for its excellence in postgraduate medical education and training both nationally and internationally.
Ayaz Sadiq called on graduating doctors to go beyond medical treatments, fostering ethical and empathetic relationships with patients. He also highlighted pressing issues such as maternal and child healthcare and the delivery of medical services in rural areas, urging young doctors to tackle these challenges with dedication and innovation.
“Building a healthy society requires a robust healthcare system,” he said, assuring the parliament’s full support for CPSP’s initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare in Pakistan.
The Speaker praised the institution’s leadership for equipping graduates with world-class knowledge, skills, and values of compassion, urging them to instill both technical expertise and ethical leadership in future professionals.
Congratulating the graduates and their families, Ayaz Sadiq acknowledged their sacrifices and encouraged them to serve humanity with pride and innovation, stating, “The medical profession is sacred, and serving humanity brings unparalleled satisfaction.”
