Dr. Musadik Malik to PTI: Halt Divisive Rhetoric or Face Consequences

ISLAMABAD, Aug 23 (Alliance News): Minister for Petroleum, Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, issued a stern warning to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership, particularly targeting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister, urging them to cease hate-based statements and avoid spreading chaos in the country.

Speaking on Friday during an interview with a private news channel, Dr. Malik emphasized the importance of abandoning divisive rhetoric in favor of a peaceful and constructive political approach.

The Minister’s warning comes amid rising concerns over PTI’s recent actions, which he claims are part of a broader effort to destabilize the nation, citing the provocative events of May 9 as an example.

Dr. Malik stressed that by continuing to foster unrest and promote divisive language, the PTI leadership is jeopardizing national harmony and the country’s stability.

Highlighting a specific incident, Dr. Malik revealed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister had openly threatened to lead a procession to Islamabad with the intent of staging a “qabza” (occupation), rather than a peaceful protest.

He made it clear that such actions would not be tolerated, as they pose a direct threat to law and order in the country.

The Minister asserted that the government is committed to maintaining peace and stability in Islamabad and will take all necessary measures to ensure this. He sent a clear message to the PTI leadership that any attempts to incite chaos or occupy public spaces would be met with firm resistance from the authorities.

Responding to a query, Dr. Musadik Malik reiterated that while peaceful protest is a fundamental right of every citizen—a right that the government fully respects and protects—any efforts to destabilize the country or disrupt peace will have serious consequences.

Dr. Malik called on political parties to work together in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect, avoiding inflammatory language. By promoting peace and shunning hate rhetoric, he argued, the PTI leadership could play a constructive role in building a more stable and prosperous Pakistan.
