ISLAMABAD, Feb 11 (Alliance News): The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) organized an awareness seminar for the Nan Bai Association, focusing on food safety challenges and improving hygiene standards in the federal capital.
Held at the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries, the event brought together business leaders, traders, and IFA officials to discuss measures for ensuring hygienic food practices.
Deputy Director Operations of IFA, Dr. Tahira Saddiqui, led the seminar, which was attended by key figures, including Muhammad Awais Satti, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Small Traders, Senior Vice President Sheikh Tayyab Saeed, Vice President of Jammiat Al Quresh Meat Welfare Association Sardar Zaheer Ahmed, and Chairman Founder Group Saqib Taj Abbasi. Capital Nan Bai Association President Sajjad Ali Abbasi also participated.
During the session, traders discussed the difficulties they face in meeting food safety regulations and shared suggestions for improvement.
Dr. Tahira Saddiqui acknowledged their efforts in maintaining health standards and assured them of IFA’s full support. She emphasized the need for collaboration between the food authority and traders to ensure the provision of safe and hygienic food.
The IFA team delivered a detailed presentation highlighting food quality improvements, streamlining licensing procedures, and fostering business growth. A significant portion of the seminar was dedicated to educating bakers on hygiene practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.
