Islamabad Launches City-Wide Crackdown to Combat Dengue Fever

ISLAMABAD, Jul 23 (Alliance News): To tackle the rising threat of dengue fever, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has initiated a comprehensive city-wide surveillance and crackdown operation.

Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, all Assistant Commissioners have been deployed across the city to carry out intensive dengue surveillance.

An ICT administration spokesman reported that efforts are focused on eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites and ensuring hospitals are prepared to handle dengue cases.

Assistant Commissioner Shalimar led a major dengue surveillance drive, resulting in FIRs and arrests of several commercial property owners where dengue larvae were found. This action targets those who fail to comply with health regulations, holding them accountable for risking public health.

Assistant Commissioner Saddar managed surveillance in the G-12 and D-12 sectors, inspecting these areas for mosquito breeding sites and enforcing preventive measures. Additionally, ADC (East) supervised dengue control activities in the G-8 sector.

This proactive strategy aims to protect public health through rigorous monitoring, enforcement, and community engagement.
