New York, Oct 07 (Alliance News): The Israeli military has destroyed 814 mosques and severely damaged 148 others during its year-long war on Gaza, according to the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the besieged enclave.

The conflict has also damaged religious sites, including three churches and 19 cemeteries, with the total cost of the destruction estimated at $350 million.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reiterated his call for peace, expressing concern over the conflict’s expansion into Lebanon, where Israeli strikes have killed over a thousand people.

He urged the international community to intervene and halt the ongoing devastation.

The Gaza ministry further reported that Israeli forces have desecrated graves and exhumed bodies, committing acts of violence against the dead.

The conflict has claimed 238 ministry employees’ lives, and 19 others have been detained.
