Pakistan Launches Major Drug Survey to Tackle Narcotics Crisis

ISLAMABAD, July 18 (Alliance News): Pakistan has launched a national drug survey to gather data on drug users, marking a crucial step in combating the narcotics crisis. This survey, the first in 11 years, was approved by Federal Minister of Interior and Anti-Narcotics Mohsin Naqvi.

The survey aims to collect detailed data from homes, schools, and slums across the country, providing vital information for creating effective anti-drug strategies. Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of accurate data, saying it will be key in shaping these strategies.

The Anti-Narcotics Force and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics will conduct the survey, with help from international development organizations. Authorities have been given 15 days to finalize the survey’s methodology and timeline.

The last national drug survey was conducted in 2013. This new effort represents a significant step in Pakistan’s fight against drug abuse, aiming to secure a safer future for its citizens.
