Islamabad, Aug 1 (Alliance News): Iqra University Islamabad’s final-year fashion design students showcased their groundbreaking theses, marking the culmination of their extensive academic research and creative efforts.
This event highlighted the students’ evolution in fashion design and their emerging influence in the industry.
The theses featured unique design concepts, pushing traditional fashion boundaries and reflecting each student’s personal and creative growth over their four-year program.
The collection offered fresh perspectives and challenged conventional fashion norms, integrating cultural elements with Pakistani values.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by notable diplomats, including Ms. Irena Gancheva, Ambassador of Bulgaria to Pakistan, and Mr. Mehmet Toyran, Educational Counsellor at the Embassy of Türkiye. They praised the students for their creativity and innovative designs.
The collection, presented by 53 students, showcased individual themes and highlighted their dedication and hands-on experience.
Key aspects included innovative design concepts developed through rigorous research and personal exploration, resulting in garments that blend various cultural traditions with contemporary fashion.
A panel of fashion and creative industry experts reviewed the work. The jury included Ms. Vaneeza Ahmed (Model/Actress), Ms. Shazia Kiyani (Fashion Designer), Mr. Azam Jamal (Visual Artist and Associate Professor at NCA), and Aqeel Ahmed Solangi (Associate Professor at NCA RWP). The project was supervised by Ms. Benish Rehman (Assistant Professor) and Ms. Qandeel Zahira (Adjunct Faculty).
This event marks a significant milestone for Iqra University’s fashion design students, setting a new standard for creativity and innovation in the industry.
