ISLAMABAD, Dec 6 (Alliance News): Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, emphasized on Wednesday the need for collective efforts to address online safety challenges, particularly for children.
Speaking during a meeting with Miranda Sissons, Meta’s Global Human Rights Policy Lead, Shaza Fatima highlighted the growing risks posed by online threats in today’s digital age.
She called for collaborative efforts to combat these dangers and ensure a safer digital environment.
The discussion, also attended by Meta’s Public Policy Head in Pakistan, Dania Mukhtar, focused on digital safety and mutual interests.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing cybersecurity and strengthening the digital ecosystem across Pakistan.
She stressed the need to provide quality content on social media platforms while protecting vulnerable groups, including children and young people, from online risks.
The meeting was also attended by Member IT Syed Junaid Imam and Member International Coordination Imad Memon.
