ISLAMABAD, Sep 19 (Alliance News): Pakistan’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) export remittances have soared by 30%, reaching US$ 584 million during the first two months of Financial Year 2024-25 (July-August), compared to US$ 449 million during the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication.
In August 2024, ICT services export remittances amounted to US$ 298 million, marking a 26.8% increase from the US$ 235 million reported in August 2023. Compared to the previous month (July 2024), remittances grew by US$ 12 million, reflecting a 4% month-on-month rise.
The IT & IT-enabled Services (ITeS) industry achieved a trade surplus of US$ 509 million, representing 87.15% of total ICT export remittances, an increase of 29.2% compared to US$ 394 million recorded during the same period last year.
ICT remains the top-performing sector in Pakistan’s Services exports, followed by “other business services,” which generated US$ 255 million.
