“PMYP Chairman Aims to Boost IT Industry’s Share to $25 Billion”

ISLAMABAD, Jul 08( Alliance News): Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, announced an ambitious plan to boost Pakistan’s IT industry from $2.5 billion to $25 billion in the next five years.

Speaking at the “International Conference on Sustainability in Workforce,” he revealed that 200,000 young people will receive training in cutting-edge technology and IT skills to prepare them for the modern job market.

The government, under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, is intensifying efforts to enhance skill development through partnerships and targeted programs.

Rana expressed optimism about Pakistan’s economic future, citing recent investment projects with China, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, which will create numerous job opportunities for youth.

He praised the efforts of NAVTTC’s Executive Director, Amir Ali Jan, and Chairperson, Gulmeena Bilal, in empowering the next generation of tech leaders.
