ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (Alliance News): Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force, visited the 12th edition of the International Defence Exhibition IDEAS-2024 at the Karachi Expo Centre on Thursday.
The event, showcasing the latest advancements in defence and aerospace technology, attracted a diverse range of national and international audiences.
During his visit, the Air Chief explored the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park pavilion, which featured cutting-edge technologies in space, cyber, artificial intelligence, electronic warfare, aerospace design, sensors, and simulators.
He engaged in discussions with national partners on the role of technological collaboration in enhancing national defence capabilities.
Emphasizing the growth of start-ups into Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Air Chief Marshal Sidhu stressed the importance of fostering a robust ecosystem that encourages venture capital to drive innovation.
He also highlighted the need to nurture emerging talent and strengthen local industries through the National Incubation Center for Aerospace Technology (NICAT).
The Air Chief interacted with foreign delegates, focusing on opportunities for the sale and purchase of indigenously developed aerospace equipment, promoting Pakistan’s self-reliant defence industry.
He also emphasized the need for national and international collaboration to advance Pakistan’s aerospace sector and ensure continued innovation.
The Pakistan Air Force’s participation in IDEAS-2024 reflects its commitment to technological advancement, with the National Aerospace Science & Technology Park playing a key role in the country’s defence indigenization efforts.
