CDA and Islamic Relief Join Forces to Tackle Climate Change in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (Alliance News): Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Islamic Relief Pakistan’s Country Director, Asif Shirazi, on Wednesday to discuss joint efforts in addressing climate change and developing Islamabad.

Randhawa commended Islamic Relief for its contributions to Pakistan’s development since 1992, especially in environmental initiatives. He also highlighted CDA’s ongoing plantation drives in Margalla Hills and the creation of the Climate Change Fund to protect Islamabad’s environment.

The meeting focused on collaborative projects to meet the city’s growing water needs.

The CDA offered technical support, while Islamic Relief expressed readiness to work with CDA’s development partners like the World Bank and International Development Bank.

Both organizations pledged to work together to safeguard Islamabad against the impacts of climate change and to develop it into a modern city.
