CPEC: A Lifeline for Pakistan’s Growth, Says Senator Shibli Faraz at China-Pakistan Forum

ISLAMABAD, Aug 28 (Alliance News): Leader of the Opposition, Senator Syed Shibli Faraz, described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a lifeline for Pakistan’s development and future growth during his address at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The event was organized by the Pakistan-China Institute.

Senator Faraz praised China’s policy of Reform and Opening-Up, which has propelled the nation to become the world’s second-largest economy. He emphasized the relevance of these principles for Pakistan’s economic and social development, noting that CPEC is crucial for achieving these goals.

Highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China, he called their relationship a model of bilateral ties built on mutual respect and shared objectives.

He reaffirmed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party’s commitment to strengthening this vital relationship, recognizing it as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

Senator Faraz also acknowledged China’s pivotal role in global affairs, particularly within the Global South, and expressed support for China’s vision of a multipolar world.

He highlighted China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a transformative project capable of reshaping global trade routes and fostering economic cooperation.

He reiterated PTI’s commitment to deepening Pakistan-China relations and pledged to work closely with Chinese counterparts to explore new avenues of cooperation.

Senator Faraz also extended his best wishes to the Pakistan-China Institute for its ongoing efforts in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between the two nations.
