ISLAMABAD, Jan 19 (Alliance News): Team Eco-EduTech from Daharki, Sindh, has triumphed in the 8th cycle of the Enterprise Challenge Pakistan, organized by the British High Commission in Islamabad.
The winning team presented an innovative business idea focused on using waste materials to create educational resources for children with disabilities, showcasing creativity and inclusion in addressing community challenges.
The finals of Pakistan’s largest entrepreneurial competition for students under 18 were hosted by British High Commissioner Jane Marriott CMB OBE in collaboration with King’s Trust International and SEED Ventures.
The event featured promising startup ideas from five regional teams, including:
- Green Sprout Farm (Peshawar): Optimizing agricultural yields while conserving water and space.
- Paws on Wheels (Multan): Providing professional pet healthcare services at clients’ doorsteps.
- Nutribites (Quetta): Developing nutrient-rich gummies as alternatives to pills.
- Aqua Wave (Islamabad): Introducing portable bottles for instant water purification.
Mahnoor received the King’s Trust Global Young Achiever Award Asia 2024 for her pioneering idea of repurposing food waste and fly larvae into sustainable products such as organic chicken feed and powdered chitosan.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott lauded the students’ creativity and their contributions to communities.
She expressed hope for future collaborations, emphasizing the success of the Enterprise Challenge in reaching over 8,000 Pakistani students, including 1,700 this year alone.
The program is a testament to Pakistan’s entrepreneurial potential, supported by global partnerships with King’s Trust International and SEED Ventures, which nurture social entrepreneurship and create sustainable ecosystems for young innovators.
