Four Sentenced to Death for Spreading Religious Hatred on Social Media

RAWALPINDI, Jan 25 (Alliance News): A Rawalpindi court sentenced four individuals to death on charges of spreading religious hatred on social media.

Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Tariq Ayub announced the verdict, with Prosecutor Malik Sikandar representing the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Advocate Raja Imran Khalil appearing for the plaintiff, Shiraz Farooqi.

The convicts, identified as Rana Usman, Ashfaq Ali, Salman Sajjad, and Wajid Ali, were found guilty under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The court sentenced the individuals to death under Section 295-C, 10 years imprisonment under Section 295-B, and imposed a fine of Rs 1 million each under Section 295-A.

The court ordered that the convicts be hanged until their death, emphasizing the severity of the crime.
