Hardik Pandya Hopes Pakistan Fans Enjoyed Champions Trophy in Dubai

DUBAI, March 10 (Alliance News): Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya stated that India’s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy was beyond his control but hoped that Pakistani fans enjoyed the cricket action in Dubai.

His remarks came after India clinched their third Champions Trophy title with a thrilling four-wicket victory over New Zealand in the final on Sunday.

The team remained unbeaten in the Pakistan-hosted tournament, which was played across Pakistan and the UAE.

Reflecting on India’s 2017 final loss to Pakistan, Pandya said, “Eight years is a long time, but this victory is special. It’s a gift to our fans.” He also recalled a childhood memory involving the Kenyan cricket team, who mistook him for one of their own during a match.

On his six-hitting prowess, Pandya shared his simple approach: “Take a deep breath, focus on the ball, and swing hard — it’ll go out of the ground.” He contributed 19 runs in the final before being dismissed.
