Imam Al-Budair’s Visit Highlights Strong Ties: Gilani Stresses Unity and Cooperation with Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (Alliance News): A Saudi delegation led by Imam Masjid Al-Nabawi Dr. Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair met with Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani at the Parliament House on Thursday during their visit to Pakistan.

Chairman Gilani praised the long-standing cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that their relationship is based on shared religious, cultural, and moral values. He highlighted the sacred significance of the Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madina for the Muslim Ummah.

Welcoming Dr. Al-Budair, Chairman Gilani noted that his visit reflects the strong and friendly ties between the two nations. He expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s consistent support under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Gilani briefed Dr. Al-Budair on regional issues, including the challenges in Kashmir and Palestine. He stressed the need for unity among Muslim nations to tackle these issues and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to promote peace and stability.

Chairman Gilani proposed enhancing cooperation in religious education and research, and suggested initiating academic exchanges and joint research projects. He also advocated for increased exchange of parliamentary delegations to strengthen the bonds between the two countries.

Further, he called for boosting trade and economic relations and expressed hope that Dr. Al-Budair’s visit would reinforce the friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Gilani reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with Saudi Arabia to achieve shared goals and address mutual challenges. He also highlighted the deep affection Pakistan has for Masjid-e-Nabawi as a symbol of unity, peace, and devotion.
