ISLAMABAD, Apr 30 (Alliance News): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar warned late Tuesday that India was planning a possible military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours, based on “baseless and concocted allegations” related to the Pahalgam incident.
He described the threat as having “catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond.”
Addressing the media, Tarar said Pakistan had “credible intelligence” regarding India’s intentions. He strongly condemned what he called India’s “self-assumed hubristic role of Judge, Jury and Executioner” in the region and labeled it “reckless.”
“Pakistan has always been a victim of terrorism and understands the pain caused by it,” the minister stated, reiterating Pakistan’s consistent stance of condemning terrorism in all forms. He said Pakistan had offered an impartial and transparent investigation by a neutral international commission to uncover the truth.
However, he added, “India seems to be avoiding such an investigation, which in itself raises questions about its true motives.” He termed India’s strategy of stoking public sentiment to achieve political ends as “unfortunate and deplorable.”
Tarar emphasized that Pakistan would respond decisively to any military adventurism. “The responsibility for any escalatory spiral and its consequences will lie squarely with India,” he warned.
He concluded by affirming Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.
