ISLAMABAD, March 13 (Alliance News): A day after the successful rescue operation of Jaffar Express passengers, the Foreign Office revealed that the terrorists involved in the attack were in direct contact with their ring leaders in Afghanistan.
“India has been involved in terrorism in Pakistan. In the Jaffar Express attack, the terrorists were in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan,” Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated during his weekly press briefing.
Security forces eliminated all 33 Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists who had hijacked the train carrying over 400 passengers.
While all hostages were rescued, 21 passengers were martyred before the military operation commenced, and four FC personnel also lost their lives in the Mushqaf area of Bolan district.
Khan stated that intercepted communications confirmed the attackers’ links with Afghanistan, reiterating Pakistan’s call for the Afghan interim government to prevent militant groups like the BLA from using its soil for terrorism.
He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism while maintaining close ties with Afghanistan.
Following the operation, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry asserted that the attack had changed the “rules of the game,” vowing to hunt down those responsible.
He affirmed that intelligence reports confirmed the attack was orchestrated by terrorist ring leaders operating from Afghanistan.
