ISLAMABAD, Nov 26 (Alliance News): Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to expedite the implementation of agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in trade, agriculture, defense, and technology.
This understanding was reached during high-level meetings and delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Islamabad.
Both leaders witnessed the signing of several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), covering areas such as environmental protection, disaster management, halal trade, financial intelligence sharing, and science and technology.
They also signed a “Roadmap for Comprehensive Cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus for 2025-2027,” outlining future economic collaboration.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the productive discussions, emphasizing the importance of turning agreements into actionable outcomes.
President Lukashenko expressed his country’s readiness to share technology and work on various sectors for the mutual benefit of both nations.
During the talks, the leaders also discussed regional issues, including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Belarus for its support on the Kashmir issue, stressing the need for resolving global conflicts to achieve lasting peace.
The meeting highlighted the long-standing political and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Belarus, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing mutual cooperation for the benefit of their people.
