Pakistan, Belarus Sign Multiple Agreements to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

MINSK, April 11 (Alliance News): Pakistan and Belarus signed a series of bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on Friday to strengthen cooperation in diverse sectors including defense, trade, environmental protection, and internal security.

The accords were signed during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to Minsk, following high-level talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Delegations from both sides discussed a wide range of regional and international issues as well as sectoral collaboration.

Prime Minister Sharif and President Lukashenko witnessed the formal signing ceremony, where pre-signed documents were exchanged between relevant ministers.

A Readmission Agreement and an Agreement on Cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries were signed and exchanged by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Belarusian Internal Affairs Minister.

An agreement to deepen defense collaboration was signed between the two countries’ defense ministries, with Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Belarusian Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin exchanging the relevant documents.

Additionally, a roadmap for military-technical cooperation for the years 2025-2027 was formalized between the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus and Pakistan’s Ministry of Defense Production. Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and Belarusian Minister Dmitry Pantus exchanged the documents.

Other important areas covered through MoUs included environmental protection, postal service improvement, business support, and trade development. Trade bodies from both countries also agreed to boost institutional cooperation to support bilateral economic activity.

The agreements reflect the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus and their shared interest in deepening ties across strategic, economic, and technological domains.
